i don't know which one, but i heard on the radio this morning that one of the two women that make up the duo "weather girls" has died. I know martha wash was one of the women but i'm not sure if it was her or that other lady...does anyone else know about this?

I heard that she died also but I don't know any of the details. Her name was Izora Rhodes. Before Izora Rhodes and Martha Wash were The Weather Girls, they were called Two Tons O' Fun. They started out as Sylvester's backup singers.

I think it was RipHer2Shreds that told about one of Sylvester's quotes about Two Tons O' Fun. Sylvester said "I didn't want skinny black girls that could ooh and ahh, I wanted big bitches that could wail!"

Martha Wash is the voice behind C&C Music Factory and Black Box's biggest hits:

Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now) (C&C Music Factory)
Everybody Everybody (Black Box)

These two groups hired skinny/model type girls to lip sync to Martha's voice (like Milli Vanilli) because Martha was too big in size and did'nt appeal to the music buying audience etc. She sued them, won and C&C ended up putting her in the group and in the music videos and the album cover etc. Martha was in a group called The Weather Girls/Two Tons of Fun, the other member of this group "Izora Rhodes" has passed away, she continued to perform as The Weather Girls with her daughter overseas etc. (Martha has gone solo and was no longer apart of the group).
