Give the album a chance, EWM.

I never said I wouldn't. All I've said so far is that this song and video are crap. I'll be happy to check out the other ones.

I'd rank it with the classic Duran Duran stuff (especially since the original line-up is back). Or at least the stuff I heard. I can't see why anyone who likes Duran would complain about this new stuff. I mean, what are you expecting?

I really like Prince, but I think his new music is shit too. Some artists eventually just hit the wall. It's natural I guess.

From Duranduran.com:

Number One Most Added!
"(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" is the #1 MOST ADDED SONG at Adult Radio in the US this week! The song debuted at #40 on the Hot Adult BDS Monitor and #38 on the Modern Adult BDS Monitor. This is incredible as the song has only been at radio for 7 days!

The song has also been in the Top 5 every night on STAR 98 Los Angeles' Top 5 @ 7 countdown for a week.

None of this would be possible without all of your efforts to get "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" played on radio all over the world and the band couldn't be more excited. Thanks to each and every one of you who have been requesting the song. Keep up the great - and very much appreciated - work!

Still, I like the song very much!! And what i've heard from the new album also!! But maybe it is that magic feeling coz of the 5 originals together again.. Although, I also think Pop trash i a very nice album, and many people dindn't agree...

Ofcourse there are many great artists/bands which have made great albums...finally the greatness will lower, but it is soooo hard to keep up at the same level... Same with U2, still a great band (especially live) but their cd's are just nice, not that special anymore...

But... Reach up for the sunrise is (for me) a great (real) Duran Duran song whcih makes me feel good!!! lol

it's nice to see Andy Taylor smiling again! Remember VH-1's Behind the Music? He seemed like one bitter Mofo.

ANd i've always love watching nick play keyboards in any concert/video footage because it always looks like he is typing on a computer (though he actually is in the video but not back in the early 80s)...he makes me blush...but JOHN ROCKS MY WORLD (still after all these years!)

I LOVE Nick!!! And I had forgotten how sexy Roger looks behind the drums! His solos and fills still give me tingles! drool

I have a documentary from 87 where they mention how Andy was trying to sue Duran Duran for something... I think maybe his small contributions to the Notorious recording sessions, I'm not sure... Anywho, it's nice to see they can all put that aside and make more music. They had a magic, that is undeniable. I have a concert on vhs from 1982 and they were (and still are) a GREAT band live.

is it me or does roger look better today than he did back in the 80s? I heard andy was suing b/c he was trying to get out of the notorious band sessions or his contract or something (I just had a "take it easy" video moment...yum!) ...i don't know...i tried to block him leaving the band out! it was devistating! lol

since those charts you mentioned all factor into the hot 100 chart in billboard this song has a real shot to be a top 20 hit even if it doesnt get a lot of top 40 radio play!

All this Duran Duran revial love is turning me into a 12 year old teenybopper all over again. I honestly didn't think this reunion would happen. It was more like distant wishful thinking. I never heard about Andy (who's my fave) wanted to sue the band over his contributions on Notorious. Was that ever brought up on Behind the Music? I finally watched the video this morning. Roger looks the best I've seen him so far since the reunion. I didn't care for Nick in the spaceship, more like a bubble to me, but that's minor. Seeing them playing in the video makes me smile.

Since Nick and Simon are my faves, I've always been nuts for Duran Duran. Watch the word teenybopper though, it has boy-band connotations now... Duran Duran have always composed their music and played their instruments, they have always been about creativity and this is very much lacking in the "teenybopper" bands of today for the most part. Lots of people still have the idea that Duran are just pretty boys, but really, could they last 25 years if they were just that? No.

I don't think the lawsuit thing was brought up in Behind the Music. They talk about it in "3 to Get Ready" a documentary about their Notorious tour. Oooooh, check this out. I found this Duran Duran timeline: http://www.durandurantime.../1986.html Do control-F and find all posts about Andy. You'll notice he was trying to ditch Duran Duran, and in June it says "Duran threatens legal action against Andy, trying to get him in studio; Andy countersues".

thumbs up!

DD in my opinion have some of the best songwriting out there! First album and RIO album are prime examples! YOu wouldn't hear that stuff on an N Sync or BSB album...
