Anywho, glad we're all excited about DD! woot!

I finally watched the video and it looks GREAT!!! It's so awesome to see them together again. And ROGER!!! OMG, I had forgotten how much I love to see him behind the drums, with his focused looks during the fills and solos. Did you see him twirl the sticks?!?!? YEAH!

Oh and, Nick looks great too! horny mr.green drool

It's a great video. They guys look great and the song is growing on me more and more. At first, I thought the first single should have been Taste the Summer... but now I see this is a good choice.

Well, I kinda understand know how Evil White Male feels about the single. It is very pop like and not original unfortunately. But, I am glad to see them back in saddle with the original members. Hopefully, their album is more promising.

This song and video are not up to their normal standards b/c they were very innovative back in the day. However, I am glad to see them back in saddle again with the original members. Hopefully, their album is more promising.

As a die-hard and devoted Duranie, I can say that this isn't my favorite song out of all the new stuff I've heard. My guess is they are taking the safe route... they have MUCH better songs on the new cd. If you go here, you can download Taste the Summer, TV vs Radio and Virus. http://www.klausolsen.no/...loads.html (the demos, not the remixes.. those are unoffical, I believe.) Those are better songs, imo. Also try Salt in the Rainbow, Still Breathing, Pretty Ones and What Happens Tomorrow.

Yeah, it's nice and all. But if the music sucks, then what's the point? I'd rather see them come back with some hot tracks, not forgettable trash.

This message goes out to Prince as well.

With both Prince and Duran Duran, I see your point. But, the way I see it, they are just trying to get back into the limelight again. They have to put out mild, mass-media friendly music in order to do so. Then they can do whatever they want and get more experimental.

Did you see my last post with the link to other demos and new tracks? Sunrise isn't their best new track, imo. Tell me something, if you like Duran Duran, what do you like? Which albums? What songs. Give me an idea what version of Duran you dig.

I couldn't give you any sone or album titles cuz I'm not THAT big of a fan. But I like a lot of their stuff up to Undone. That was the last song of theirs that I got into, and actually one of my favorites. I'm probably more of a greatest hits kind of guy with them.

I think Evilwhitefemale is a bit dissappointed about Marilyn Manson's best of (best of?? Does he have best songs??) album... so now he troies to bring a great band like Duran Duraqn down, coz they do make good music..... razz

Again , I will have to agree with you one this one. Today, I watched the video again and I have to say that this new song sounds like a song from the Partridge Family. It is definitely not one of there greatest,

I'm just happy they finally have a record deal so they can be heard and seen, and it's also great that the original members are back together. See, I was a Duranie before I was a Prince fan, they inspired me to create music in the first place. So they will always have a special place in my heart no matter what.

I'll break down the new tracks for you:

I think Taste the Summer is best track so far. It has a Euro-soul feel. Whatever that is, lol... that's all I could think of to describe it.

Virus is more rock oriented. You might like that one best. In fact, they are leaving this track off the new album because it doesn't fit.

TV vs Radio
sounds like Rebel Rebel to me.

Salt in the Rainbow
is a beautiful ballad, but it also didn't make the album. I LOVE this one.

Still Breathing is another ballad, a live mp3 of it is on that site. It rivals Save a Prayer, imo.

Pretty Ones is really upbeat. The chorus has a baseline that reminds me of The Police. I think the song is tooo fast, but that's just me.

What Happens Tomorow is better live than on the demo. This one is more on the rock side as well.

Hope that all helps. biggrin
