You know, that xylophone part has always reminded me of Frank.

I've recently been introduced to Zappa and couldn't help but notice similarities between the two. First being Prince signed to WB the same year Zappa left (with a sour taste in his mouth, nonetheless). Secondly, being consatntly surrounded by brilliant musicians. And, I guess most importantly, basically doing shit their way as eccentric bohemian types. ANY connections of the two that ya'll know of will be appreciated.
Plus Kyle wants to know!! COULDN'T HAVE BEEN TOO RECENTLY - ISN'T HE DECEASED A GOOD MANY YEARS NOW ! I saw Zappa in concert about 12 years ago - for which I am most thankful ! I'm sure it wasn't in person but an introduction to Zappa's music!!! I was HEAVILY into Zappa in the late 80s after hearing Them or Us. Loved Sheik Yerbouti too. One of the tracks on N.E.W.S. reminds me SOOOOO much of FZ it's not funny. The thing that bothers me most about FZs music now is that it can be so straight, without being funky (the way I like it - lol).

I like Zappa he is definitely cool with me. There r similarities between the 2, but then again i hear G.Clinton and Curtis mayfield influences as well. I think P is attracted 2 good music that's made by great musicians. So it does'nt suprise me at all that u feel the way u do. U,ME,WE!....2FUNKY!
