I just heard the Exodus CD for the first time!

I liked this album a lot more than I expected to.

What struck me the most was how funny it was. The one segue with Prince doing a mafia impression had me on the floor laughing! It was also a bit of a novelty to hear all the swearing in light of Prince's recent more spiritual work. Some of the songs were pretty good too. Too bad the New Power Generation entity had devolved into crap by the time Newpower Soul was released.

Now I have to track down the Gold Nigga LP.

May favorite part of the whole CD is: "This shit is dedicated to the memory of his royal badness... I know his name that muthafuckin' Prince. Rest in peace nigga!"

Classic.

I know! I think it was the ugly artwork that turned me off from buying it for so long.

I don't know. I would have preferred a more professional looking illustration like the one on the cover of The Rainbow Children CD. I agree with you about the ghetto part, though.

Co-Sign... One of my favorite moments in Prince's recorded work. The ending of that song is EPIC!

MrSquiggle

I HATED this album. Absolute segue hell and about eight actual songs that were all crap anyway. Incidentally, if you wish to buy my copy of Exodus off me you can click here.

Don't bother, Exodus is much better, it's funnier and funkier than Gold Nigga', and Tony M is not on it at all which is a bonus, it also brings back good memories of the aftershow at the Emporium, London (22.03.'95)
