Prince Songs about Minneapolis

Preparing for the trip to Paisley Park and I am going to load my MP3 file with Prince songs with references to Minn or the area. Any suggestions:

Uptown
White Mansion
Paisley Park

Thanks

Work That Fat ("cruise Plymouth")
Zannalee (reference to Snelling Ave.)
Graffiti Bridge (named after an actual "Graffiti Bridge")

I know there's more...just can't think right now.

What's the reference to Snelling in Zannalee? Just curious.

The reference I'm aware of is 'Galpin'.

i'm serious...everytime i drove 2 the airport in buffalo, new york (in order 2 go home 2 mpls.), i ALWAYS played "eye no" and "alphabet street"...it only took that long 2 get 2 the airport. but it always set me in the right mood 2 go home. i can imagine it would take the same to go 2 paisley.

of course, the last few times i went 2 paisley, i listened to 'cloreen baconskin' and 'billy's sunglasses,'...thanx HiinEnkelte, for traumatizing me that way. goddamn, i can't wait 2 be home 2morrow for that aftershow....

Don't forget "Strolling"

"We could rent some roller skates, we could skate around the lake"
In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

Well if you're just going for Minneapolis references, I like the live version of Love Sign from the Today Show, the best: "Minneapolis in the house!" (show us the Love sign, pump the Love sign...)

Hey i live in Cologne Germany and we have lakes here too. Guess what, you can even rollerskate over here.

That`s a great song, but it`s not about MPLS, what you think?

I could swear it's Snelling. The DTT isn't always accurate. If I had the CD with me I'd take a listen again, but it's at home. Anyone else have an opinion about this?

Galpin? Where'd that come from? confuse

I beg to differ, I do believe it is all about Minneapolis. There is a skate store right by the lake and outside it there was a lemonade stand and ice cream stand. Having been to Minneapolis on many occassions everything about the song fits. Yes it could fit with lots of places I agree. But also "we could stroll the mezzanine" The lake with the shop and the skate shop and the ice cream stand has a wooden board walk. It is just all too co-incidental.

...hey - after all, you might be right. I wish my english was better, sometimes i miss the meaning behind the lyrics. But if you know where that place is in MPLS, maybe we can meet there and "stroll the mmezzanine" . Peace.
