alright, this may end up being moved to the religion forums, but, heres my thought -

since we know that God works in some crazy, mysterious ways, do you think he got to prince since he has such a huge following, and would touch so many people ??? i mean, the man used to just about have sex on stage ! and now, hes telling sold out shows to open their bibles and find the meaning there... thats a huge change !!!!

i guess the reason i ask is that i was watching the rave DVD - as i often do and that performance of purple rain - it is....well, there are few words for it really. close to the end, when he looks up to the sky, i mean, its got to be a very moving experience for him...and he appears to be very touched. that goes right into the christ...which, with him and the folks behind him, the music is very intense to say the least. everytime i watch this, i get so emotional, you can see all his love for the music, and his belief in God, come pouring out from his guitar.


anyway, i know there will be nonbelievers here to tell me im crazy, but, i still believe that God knew he would get through to some of us and so, maybe he does use the current idols out there to help pass along his word. just a thought, have a great day

I think it's great! I am a born again Christian, and I believe that the Lord uses all of his disciples in different ways to bring us closer to him. At the Birmingham show Prince changed the line in Purple Rain to "...you say you want a leader, but you can't seem to make up your mind, I think you better close it, open your Bibles and be born again!" That to me was the most touching part of the show. Then when he recieving his applause, he signaled us not to give him the glory, but pointed upward as to say give God the glory. I think more people who are truly Prince fans and non-believers can't help but to at least wonder who this person named Jesus is. Peter let him in!!!

oh I was only joking. I agree that expressing creativity is giving praise to god, and no one (IMHO) does it better than prince.

I often wonder myself if Prince was more then just a musical genius. Perhaps God is speaking through this little man. To possess that much talent and be able to say so much and so beautifully and touch so many lives in so many ways is too perfect to have just happened 'naturally'.
