Life O' The Party: Live or Studio?? i loooove the live version that uses jb's hot pants..they need to put that out in the npgmc
i wonder if the powers that be will ever let us get ahold of a live version because the live version runs circles around that lame studio version minor keys and drugs don't make a rollerskate jam

Live 4 sure...
He played it at the Melbourne aftershow, we were all blown away by this hot new groove. It was amazing how he worked the crowd that nite, he brought the roof down. -"If U don't like,
what U see here -get the FUNK out."

You know, I like both...but I think the live version would have worked great as the studio cut, too. So, the live version is better.

Live. I heard the sound-check of this at Hong Kong, and was blown away by the groove, but when I heard the studio version I almost didn't recognise the song. Still, I enjoy the studio version, but just not as much. Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

For some strange reason, that was the one song when he performed live, it didn't sound all that great to me (but Phillips Arena in ATL has awful acoustics anyway ).
I would much rather like to hear the studio version (my fav. track from Musicology! )

Where I was, right by the stage, it seemed like a lot of commotion and extra hollaring going on in my section (probalby that stupid-ass drunk girl behind me. )

Probably. I was right in the back on the floor (where the sound booth was and where Prince was hiding out during The Time's set).

the live version is off the hook..i saw the columbus and cleveland shows and both nights...that was one of the highlights...it's up there with the xtra fonkay version of dmsr...considering that the studio version sounds dated and is considered the "weak link" of musicology..i would love 2 have a copy of the live version from the npgmc..sort of like the twelve inch of the old days... minor keys and drugs don't make a rollerskate jam

Its Candy singing. I like both the live and studio versions. I dont know why ppl hate on this song so much its not a bad song at all. Its one of my fave songs on the album. But to each his own. Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM

I like both versions but the live one just straight up kicks ass. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
