Live in Las Vegas Alladin video

I've just bought Live in Las Vegas Alladin video. Great! Nikka Costa was fabulous. I laughed my ass at him showing Ozzi Osbourne and representing Maceo Parker! Hilarious... lol

I thought it was a pretty good DVD, 1+1+1=3 is the best, close 2nd is Gotta broken heart again.

The quality is just so bad though, it makes it almost unwatchable.

The quality of the video is so low and the bad editing (stills between songs) and the knowledge that for some reason he only gave us half the show ruin it for me.

The quality is pretty bad, I wish someone would re-issue it with cleaned up footage.

I actually was a little disapointed with the dogme-filming - The Rave2000 DVD is much better!

I think the Rave DVD and the Alladin DVD's are two of the lamest I have in my collection. The Rave band was so poor it makes it hard to watch and the ONA show was so boring and butchered I've watched it twice. I prefer the Japan ONA boot DVD by a MILE.

Excuse me! Rave2000 sucks..while Las Vegas is one of his best recorded live shows...

This filming is not important...the music is! And with Vegas we got:
1. 1+1+1=3
2. Strollin/I want u
3. Gotta broken heart again

And pass the peas!!

Great band..great show...great performance....

I would have preferred the concert filmed straight through...it was too short for me!!

well i liked the las vegas alladin dvd. the only complaint i have is that i wanted to see him in more outfits. we all know he changed a couple of times and why the end credits covering "sometimes it snows in april"!!! that sucked!!!!

i do prefer rave dvd over this one though. i liked both
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Filming IS important when it directly affects the music even being heard clearly! The quality on it is atrocious, plain and simple.

Live at the Alladin pisses over Rave. Some great moments...

1. Prince chicken-greasing the fuck out of 1+1+1=3

2. When he sings the lyric from 'Let us make this joyful sound' from 'Strollin' - classic Prince moment.

3. Prince watching Eric Leeds with total respect whilst jamming.

4. The performance of 'Gotta broken heart again'.

The concert gives u the feeling of fun he had performing, and the good vibe all round the Alladin. I don't mind the picture quality - I think it's OK and works in its own way - gotta be less fussy. Too staged.Although I do admit the editing at times is shocking, especially in the instrumental break of 'Gotta broken heart again'. Rave is too glossy and I've only watched it once (only watched it once and I think I'll leave it that way). 'Alladin' I've watched about 20 times now - and still enjoy it.

Anyway, every time I put it on, always makes me feel better after watching it.

On Rave the cuts are so quick at times it makes me sick.
Both are filmed terribly, but I'd go with Alladin for the fact that it's a real concert. The crowd energy makes it more exciting.
Also the band is way better.
For the casual fan, I'm sure Rave would be better because of the setlist. Also, it might be the last time he did the splits.
Neither holds a candle to Sign 'o' the Times, obviously

Oh yeah
Why is Pop Life ten times louder than the other songs?

what's up people?! if u really loved the ONA tour, especially the US part (i prefere that part of the tour) you must admit the Alladin DVD has not much left of it. Prince really missed a chance to share this wonderfull live experience 4-ever with us. Look at the things other artist do with DVD: Peter Gabriel for example. Now that's what i call a concert-DVD!! Even in the early eighties bands produced better concertmovies (Talking Heads??) As a matter of fact, i'm getting more relieved each time i listen to ONA CD box, Prince did a good job on that one for a change!!

I did not like this video much at first due to the low video quality however the music made it into a classic the more I listened to it. Would have loved the piano set though.

One of my favourite parts has become the Strollin/U Want Me medley. Anyone know how I can get a hold of an audio version of this?

Thanks
