What should have been on the greatest hits disk

Using the Billboard and Uk singles chart we can establish just what are Prince's top 16 hits (ie just enough to fit on a single disk). If we take the average of the two charts we can see that anything with a chart position averaging over 15 should be discounted.

Therefore if we take the very best of Prince cd which proported to do this task we can eliminate the following tracks.

I Wanna Be Your Lover, reached no. 11 in the US but only 41 in the Uk. An average of 26, terrible.
I Would Die 4 U, no. 8 in the US but only no. 58 in the UK.
And finally Money Don't Matter 2 Night only got to no. 23 in the US and scraped into the Uk top 20 at no. 19.

In their place why couldn't they have included Batdance, no. 1 in the US, no. 2 in the Uk and The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, No. 3 in the US and his only no. 1 in the UK. Who cares if he was called symbol on that record, the so called very best of Prince was released in 2001 after symbol was back being called Prince. And wouldn't it have been better to stick a sticker on the front saying "includes 6 no. 1's" instead of "includes 4 no. 1's".

yea, but batdance and the whold batman album is a joke, i don't even own this or count it as a "real" P CD. The very best of prince, to me, would be the very best (in my opinion) which isn't necessarily the most popular...batdance...case and point. I always did think it was a little odd seeing money don't matter 2 night on that CD, although i do love that song, i don't consider it one of his best (i.e. best 16) or most succesful, as u pointed out
