Two responses from me....first to the asslicker who called Elvis a redneck....YOU BLOW DONKEYS....next to the asslicker who said Eminem has been called the modern day Elvis....BY WHO? A BUNCH OF 15 YEAR OLDS? If Eminem is todays Elvis, then the new kids on the block are todays JACKSON 5. And to all the jackasses out there who insist that Elvis stole music from black people.....SHUT UP!!!! No he didn't steal the music, the LATE GREAT SAM PHILLIPS gave Elvis the chance to sing these songs because no one else (black artists) could make them hits!!!! I saw a documentary recently where Ike Turner said the same thing to Sam Phillips (about Elvis stealing black music) and he almost got bitch-slapped by Sam.....Time to put these old lies to rest.

No need to name call - geez, why so hostile? Different opinions make the world go 'round after all. BTW - Eminem reference was in a Rolling Stone article and I DID SAY it was debatable! (Is Jan Wenner 15?) And who said Elvis stole anything? What he did do was perform/record music that a lot of other white artists (especially in the South at that time) wouldn't do... which was, in fact, groundbreaking.

Settle down and enjoy the music! peace

The thing about Elvis not writing his own songs is a joke. Yes it's true, but Elvis' early recordings were songs he listened to, enjoyed and brought to the attention of the public with unique and usually excellent versions. A lot of the stuff would be obscure by now if Elvis hadn't done it. You might as well say Frank Sinatra was a no-talent because he didn't write his own songs either. Bing Crosby too.
Give me a break!
Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. We are Sexually Frustrated what we R... Amen..!!! - zelaire

A lot Elvis songs were written by an African-American gentlemen. I can't think of the guy name but when I do I will do a Goggle on him.

Sam said many times he wanted to find a white man who could sound black. He knew he could sell a lot more records with a white man than a black man.

Elvis was big because of the racist times he lived him. Perhaps if equality exsisted back in the 50's Sam Phillips would have worked with a black man.

Elvis was a redneck so get over it already.

In terms of popularity, fame, impact etc etc...Michael Jackson may be it...Actually Michael is more popular he is even known by native african tribes and stuff wink

They are both great vocalists but in terms of songwriting, performing, dancing etc etc MJ kicks ass! Period!
