Musicology is my Favorite, please join me on my limb

Yes, I'm going out on a limb. But really I'm not. I'm probably one of the most thourough and devoted Prince fan's around and I have to finally admit that Musicology is my favorite Prince CD ever. Why do I say this? I think it's b/c it's it's the first CD since Purple Rain that I can say I LOVE every single track. I don't skip thru anything b/c I don't like it. It makes me feel good about life (like all of his work). Notice I didn't say it was his best CD b/c I might regret that later. I think I'll either be all alone on this or I might get a lot of co-signs

Love Ya'll
SO WHAT IF WE'RE CONTROLLING ALL THE OIL, IS IT WORTH THE CHILD DYING 4?

If it weren't for all the great stuff he did in the 80s, this would be my favourite too.

I was just talking to my friend about that book/mini series of Shirley McClain's called "Out on a Limb." I was telling her that she has to read it, that it's true, AND
Even if it is a COINCIDENCE or whatever you wanna call it, I'll go out on a limb and co-sign with U on Musicology (i don't skip any either). razz

Purple Rain will always be the measuring stick...

I experienced Purple Rain...
I knew Purple Rain...
I lived Purple Rain...

Musicology, sir, you are no Purple Rain.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I wouldn't say its my absolute favorite...its gonna be hard for Prince to record something that tops Parade or Sign o The Times for me...but its definitely the most enjoyable album the guy has recorded in a LONG time. I don't skip tracks at all, however, Life o The Party is my least favorite song.

As a side note...When I recorded Musicology onto a minidisc I added Empty Room (the download version from NPGMC) after On The Couch and it has fit with the flow of the album perfectly. That song should've been on the CD imo.

Interesting. When Musicology first came out I started a thread saying it was a good album with good trax but was not a great album because it lacked any killer trax. I think you found the solution. Empty Room, for me, would have topped this off very nicely! cool

Hmm.....Empty Room....Now why didn't this make it on there? That would've given Musicology the star star star star star song it lacks.

Musicology to me is a really strong album. I mean, there's no terrible songs I have to skip, no annoying raps or segues, and I like or love pretty much every song. It just can't compare to his most brilliant albums though.

Rockability

Musicology is my favorite followed closely by HIstory by M.J. J/K.

Ok, I might be on a limb here, but even the Batman album kicks ass on Prince's best album on the track to being better.
