....Desire 2 become massive again?

2 me prince doesn't have the drive like he had when he first started, and i think if u want 2 become big u have 2 have the desire.

When u hear people say on hear that he dont care about having a number 1 album or single, is that why his music maybe isn't as good as it was "back in the day".

I just think If prince had the desire 2 become 1 of the biggest artists around he would be making fantastic singles.

Dont get me wrong i love his new stuff, i just think it's not as good as it could be maybe.

I think you're confused about what makes an artist successful. It's not about the hits; it's about doing what you love to do. If people dig what you do, then that's cool. It's icing on the cake.

He doesn't have to be in command of the MTV airwaves to be successful.

As far as "being big," Prince has been there, done that. And he paid his dues to get there. In my eyes, he's way beyond big. He's legend status now.

Prince is an artist in the purest form. It's the art that takes priority, not fame and accolades. From a financial standpoint, an artist like Prince wants his albums to do well, but being #1 doesn't really mean much. He'll always be famous for what he's done already, and he'll always be respected by musicians and music fans based on his talent and ability. Being "one of the biggest artists around" isn't really a high priority to someone who truly loves to play.
