musicology drops out the uk album chart after four weeks.

musicology has dropped out of the top 40 uk album chart after four weeks. a single is needed badly...i think cinnamon girl would be popular on the radio stations over here.

Prince can't be everywhere at once - his American tour starts up again soon. Besides, if he was here on tour he'd be giving away copies of the album, so people wouldn't need to go buy it in the shops and I doubt concert giveaways would be ellegible in the UK charts...

Though I have personal favourites, I can't see a dead-cert hit single on the album that will convert non-fans. If it wasn't worth them releasing the title track properly, why should they release anything else? And I do think you need to release it properly, not just promos sent to radio stations. Promos work as a sneak preview of the album, but when the album is released, if they wanted to play any particular tracks they would. A proper single gives them something solid to get behind. I'd rather them release the title track properly now than put out anything else, I don't see why not?

But on the whole, Musicology did quite well in the UK when you think most of the promotion has been aimed at America and Prince seemed to have been written off previously.

No no! He doesn't care about chart placings. Don't you know anything?
