What tour do you wish you seen live??

Of all the Prince tours, which one do you wish you saw live. I have seen Lovesexy once, JOTY tour 3 times, NPS tour 2 times, and HaR tour once.

I really wanted to see the SOTT tour and the Gold Experience the most.

Has anyone seen these tours, please tell me about the shows!!

I feel like I am the only person on the planet who didn't catch the Pruple Rain tour back in 84-85. sad
I have seen footage of it though, and it's the next best thing...20 years later! smile

The Ultimate Live Experience in 1995 was great, because half of the audience hadn't heard 90% of the songs, yet still had a good time.

Personally, I'd heard them all (courtesy of Mr Bootleg) and really loved it! It was quite amusing to see all these people around me looking puzzled when Pussy Control, Days of Wild and Now were being performed, with me singing them all word for word.

Mind you, I don't know if it was just that particular performance I went to, but TMBGITW vocal was absolutely atrocious. Very weak.

It was a truly dynamic concert and the Gold finale was incredible.

I remember leaving the hall with the Na na na naaa naaa naaa naaa chant from Gold still echoing around my head as I walked through the refreshing rain towards the car parks.

Bliss.

Lovesexy - since it's talk about so much on this site
SOTT
any tour in an intimate settting

I saw Prince in 1980 when he opened for Rick James. The other two were 1999 and Purple Rain. There is a site that has a comprehensive list of all tours, the dates and venues. I found out that for the Purple Rain Tour, Prince performed 7 nites at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on 4th, 5th, 7tth-9th of November eek . That's more than the he is doing at the LA Staples Center and the Allstate Arena in IL. Another interesting tidbit is that in the song, 'All The Critics Love You In New York" there is a line where he says: "It's time 4 new direction, it's time 4 jazz 2 die
4th day of November, we need a purple high." We, in Detroit, got our purple high starting November 4, 1984... lol

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Damn my age! By the time I was even old enough to go anywhere (something like 12) The Gold Experience album was just out and I was dirt poor and couldn't go to any concerts anyway! My first and only Prince concert was Musicology. How pathetic is that... bawl

(Not that there's anything wrong with Musicology. I'm just pissed that I missed so many great tours.)

Purple Rain - it was at the height of his career. I didn't get into Prince until Grafitti Bridge movie came out - and just think the Purple Rain tour would have been so colourful, explosive and graphic !
