Has the single lifted off the ground yet? Is it even on the launching pad anymore?

I don't feel it is cornball at all. It is romantic, and it is sensual, not to mention how good he sounds singing it. To me there is nothing more sensual than someone openly letting you know they love you and you are the only one. I bet when he sang it to her it was on.....

I bet others felt it wasn't cornball.

As a 2nd single, who knows. Me, I would have picked Dear Mr. Man cause I love that song or a Million Days.

Well, the article in Billboard stated that he would have had the chart positions he attained, regardless of whether or not the CDs from the shows had been counted or not.

Still, you gotta admit, this album is doing way better than most of us thought it would (other than the overly delusional fams, who thought that it would be the biggest selling album of all time). I thought it would have some modest success, just because he was getting smarter with his marketing, but I had no idea it would last this long, or do this well.

The big question is, out of all the people who bought the album, how many really like it?

Apparently he doesn't have to admit... wink

By the way, "Call My Name" is doing pretty damn good on radio, regardless of whether or not any of us think it would...

According to Radio & Records (the radio equivalent of Billboard), "Call My Name" debuted on the Urban chart at #43, and jumped up 10 spots from #30 to #20 on the Urban AC chart. And for the record, don't discount the Urban charts as not being as important as the Pop charts. They can arguably have as large an effect on the commerciaol success of an album as "Pop" radio stations do, because in the larger retail markets, many younger radio listeners of every stripe and race listen to the urban stations almost as much as the pop stations (if not more).

Think goodness someone on this thread realizes that Urban radio is now just as important as pop radio. I can't figure out how the public can buy a song like "Burn by Usher but according to the experts on this site "Call My Name "is a bad single.

The same advice can apply to you as well.

I was in my car and nearly swerved off the road when I heard "Call My Name" being played on KTU (103.5FM in NY).

If I had to choose a single from this album it would be ICPC, it's funny, it's funky, it may make people want to hear more. I like Call My Name, but I think it alienates too many people that would or could be new listeners.

Call My Name and Million Days.

I really don't like ICPC.

Marrying Kind and If I Were The Man In Your Life are cool also.
Call My Name....Didier.

I agree
Music is the power.
Love is the message.
Truth is the answer.
