On the Couch (studio version) is loads better, but The One live is very good also.

The One's a great song but it starts to lose my interest a little towards the end. On the Couch is better. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Both are slow jams, but very different in style IMO. I wouldnt compare... With all of that said, I guess I like them about equally, but differently....

That is the absolute truth.. It's sad to say, but we all know that most of that album was a waste of CD space....Even the CD cover was trash... I only say that here... I just can't bring myself to dog even his worse stuff to the general public... especially when I am a self -proclaimed Prince Fam recruiter.. no one wants to join the legion if I were to dog the product.. The One, definitely. One of his best ballads, bar none. Although On the Couch is quite good too... few songs rise to the level of The One.

THE ONE is the one 4 me. On the Couch is good, but it's nowhere near as sexy and moving and orchestrated as The One. That was hands down the best song on NPG by a landslide. My 2 cents anyway.

The One definately!! I loved the live version of On The Couch when I saw him in concert, but the studio version just doesnt do it justice. Its ok though. Still a good listen, but theres just something extremely sexy about The One. Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM
