MJ Dis, is it really there?

On Life o' The Party I can see how the line
"My voice is gettin' higher and I ain't never got my nose done" is a thinly veiled dig at MJ, but does anyone really hear himn say "Thats the other guy" as reported? I hear him saying "lookout"

I think that's too unimaginitive and harsh even for P

Hey sweetie, I was wondering the same thing this morning. I have read that over and over again, but I have yet to actually hear it. However, maybe you shouldn't take my word for it, I swear I hear him say "blow job" in ICP&C, lol.

It is 'lookout'. I think 'That's the other guy' is the product of someone's overactive imagination. I still think it's a sly dig at MJ though, despite what Prince may say in interviews. Needless really, Mike has his own problems to deal with.

He doesn't say "Thats the other guy". Just one of those mistakes that keeps getting repeated.

To me it sounds like he did say it. But it sounds as if they masked it with an effect over it, thus preventing any cry's about him outright bashing Mike. It also makes sense in light of what he's saying leading up to that lyric. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

yeah, but who's THEY? Prince never edits himself. He just says what he says and next year re-releases the safe version like nothing ever happened. I think he'd take it out completely.

Glad to hear it's likely a rumour, I'd be very disappointed if he was that blatant. The nose dig itsaelf is clever and only just ribbing.

You know what's funny, in New Position, I never realized the band was singing/spelling P-U-S-S-Y until the ahdio show scratched it backwards in the live version, then I went and LOOKED for the "cursing"...LOL

Thanks NPGMC!
