The official price is the same as a whole downloadable album. I'm sure it's pretty good, but why ask so much? Is Musicology the album worth the same as these 11 minutes? Not a compliment to the album...

1st of all i could give a rats ass about Metallica. Lets recap shall we? Prince has been the most bootlegged artist of his generation and he is basically bootlegging himself. The price 4 NPGMC members 4 the 2 day special is roughly 6 dollars/with audio file xtra! Now that seems pretty cool 2 me price wise. A bootlegger off of the street would have sold it 2 u 4 $20 back in the day and all of u would have bought it and bragged 2 ya friends that u got some new unreleased Prince shit! So please stop complaining and just don't buy it even though i know that u will anyway!!!!!

i have to agree with what many of the others are saying...IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T BUY IT!!!!! the web site(and prince) is not making you do it, it's just giving you the opportunity to choose. stop whining, stop complaining.

I see both sides of this issue. I think people here want to buy the video, but complaints about the price are interesting as this is an experiment of the new distribution medium. I haven't seen fans or fams complain this much about price in the past, so there must be some validity to it. The NPGMC gave in on the price for a couple days, at least. The result doesn't seem like a bad thing, so let folks voice their opinions is my opinion.

so if NPGMC sold you a bottle of juice that was only about 8 ounces, and you could ONLY drink from it while the container was in your refrigerator, and it was the same price as a 64 ounce jug of juice, and let's say you like juice...you'd just go ahead and buy that juice cuz it's prince juice and that's just how it goes?

ok, weird analogy, but...my whole issue was that i don't wanna pay seven bucks for something i can only enjoy at my computer, because i don't really dig on enjoying music via my computer. if i bought the clip as it was, i'd probably look at it once or twice, and it would languish in my hard drive and i might look at it a couple times every few months from then on. if i had an audio file i could burn to CD, i'd listen to the sucker all the time.

maybe some of you dig on watching computer files on your computer. great for you. but i don't. so for me, the inclusion of the audio file not only sweetened the deal, but it made up my mind to buy the clip. the lowering of price just made the whole thing that much more enticing.

and y'all complaining about complainers are doing the same damn thing you're putting down when you whine about the whiners. i'm sure prince is very proud of you for defending his product and all and i'm just absolutely certain he's personally taking notes for his next disbursement of purple twinkie badges for y'all, but seriously - knock it off. discussion forums are for discussing things. you're entitled to your opinion, but then again, the same could be said for those with whom you disagree.
