This is soooo cooool. STARFISH and COFFEE

OK, so I'm out to lunch.

I always bring my lunch, but damn it today is payday. Anyway, I work in Duluth, GA. Not many African-Americans in this neighborhood yall. Anyway, I stop in this eatery to get something to go. You guys know me by now, I was listening to a cassette tape (yeah, I still own a walkman) and Starfish and Coffee was just coming on. Feeling a little weirded out by the fact that I'm the only person of color in the joint, I decided to use some humor.

When the guy asked me what he could get me, I started singing along with Prince. "STARFISH AND COFFEE, MAPLE SYRUP and JAM....." Well, at the very least, 15 people started singing with me. The elderly ladies having lunch were trying to figure out what was going on and everything. We ended up singing the whole song and the eatery threw in chips and soda for free for bringing some smiles and laughs to the place.

That's really dope. Kind of like a coke commerical or something. Somethings similar happen to me at work. I worked in a resturant and I was sing ing Raspberry Beret to myself "I was working part time in a five and dime..." Then another server joined in "My boss was Mr. McGee..." Then a cook joined in as so on and so forth, eventually the work staff was singing on the cook line. It was great!
SO WHAT IF WE'RE CONTROLLING ALL THE OIL, IS IT WORTH THE CHILD DYING 4?

Couple months ago a random guy in downtown San Francisco goes by singing "Every time I comb my hair..." and I finished that for him, was good for a smile. Never got a whole restaurant singing, tho.

The hell with Coke! Prince teaches the world to sing (not always in perfect harmony though, lol)!

It's called, "My Friend's Place." It's right off GA 141 N right before GA 120 E.
