these two songs are very simular.maybe prince was inspired while listening to zappa's composition.

Someone else mentioned the similiarity in their guitar style/sound a while back. I believe that they compared Joy in Repetition with Muffin Man (from Zappa). The sound is definitely similiar. I'd never heard Muffin Man before but decided to check it out. The song is silly until the guitar kicks in. I really like Zappa's sound in that song. Whether Prince was inspired by that sound or not, I think there are similiarities there. I'm going to check out sexual harrassment now.

While I DO hear similarities bet=ween their guitar sounds, the ? of u and sexual harrassment are both just minor blues progressions and therefore similar.
