I first became aware of Prince when I saw A Dirty Mind era picture and a small article in UK pop magazine Smash Hits. This would have been around 1980 and at first I thought it was a picture of Sylvester ( the disco diva ). The first music I heard by Prince was 1999.

I don't remember, I was too young Must have been the music video for I Wanna Be Your Lover. I just liked his voice since Soft & Wet so I was probably captivated like, "Who is this? That's a GUY?"

I was 15 years old at my very first concert of any kind. What can I say? Nothing could have prepared me for what I witnessed and took part in that night. History was being made though I had no clue at the time. Prince had started down the road to superstardom. I left the venue that night very much effected and changed in a rather inexpressible way. I kept asking myself, "could there possibly be anyone out there better on stage than that man?" I could'nt possibly conceive it. I still can't. He's hands down the greatest of my generation.

when I 1st say prince it was in the most beautiful girl in the world video, I turned the channel over but now I scream when ever one of his videos come on!

honestly, i saw him and thought...

Well, I'm a young buck. Having been born Nov. 1985, I didn't know about him till I seen the rerun of Purle Rain when I was about 9, and yes, I was hooked. After I saw Purple Rain and heard "The Beautiful Ones," that was it. And now, "Until the end of time, I'll be a fan for u.....I truly adore you."

I 1st saw Prince in Purple Rain, when I was about 5. From then on he has been all-time fave. As a little girl, playing house, I would pretend that Prince was my husband...he made me feel Delirious

Ok it was in the 90's and I was about 8 years old and I was watching WB17 by myself in my room than they said "next up,Prince in Purple Rain" so I'm like "ooh rain thats purple" seriously so I sat there waiting 2 see Rain that was Purple anyway when the movie began I got the point that it wasnt exactly about Rain that was Purple but... I thought Prince was Michael Jackson c'mon i was 8 everybody who was light-skinned with curly hair and that could sing and dance I thought was Michael Jackson.

The first time I saw prince, was in the when doves cry video, I knew then and there, I'd love him forever!

I was about 10 or 11 yrs. old and i was watching VH1 and Purple Rain was on.
My mom kept the channel on and she watching the movie talking about Prince. I was like
"Who in the hell was Prince?" But i sat through the whole movie and after that i was hooked!! Even though i was about 11, I still thought he was the sexiest man on earth lol..
I had my mom get me the soundtrack. But before then, I remember listening to "I wanna be your lover" on the radio..I didn't even know who prince was back then..besides i thought a woman was singing..until i got the hits album and saw it on there.

when i first saw Prince it was in the second grade and a VH1 did a prince video it was "7". Oh man i started dancing and singing with him and then my babysitter had to turn off the T.V. because she thought he was to much for a 8 year old.
