Yesterday I was strolling through used CD/vinyl stores in Seoul, South Korea, and I found the Korean version of the Love Symbol album, which was missing at least 3 songs (Sexy MF, Love 2 the 9s, Continental) as well as the Korean version of TGE, which had P Control and Now omitted. Maybe even more songs, I'm not 100% sure.

Anybody ever stumble across this? I don't know if I should buy those, even if they might make nice collector's items, I am hesitant 'cause somebody scribbled with a pen on the tracklists of both albums.

And...why in hell would they omit the track Now? Because of the vague dope reference?? It's not that raunchy methinks.

I have a copy of D&P that omits Gett Off. I've been told it might be Korean and could be a collectors item. If they're cheap I say buy 'em!

It should say "Warner Music Korea" on the CD and booklet.

It probably is a bit of censorship. I have some mid-80's albums (on vinyl, none Prince) from Korea. For example, on the back cover of Peter Gabriel's "So" there's a blurb: "Approved by KECPP, Ministry of Culture and Information Reg. No. 20." I'm not sure what KECPP stands for, but it's probably some gov't organization that reviews--and censors, if they deem appropriate--new music. I dunno if they're still doing that.

It's most definitely censorship. And yes, they're still doing that, although most people seem to be downloading their music nowadays so it's quite obsolete. Many American rap records do get proper releases here in Korea, so I guess the Ministry of Culture and Information loosened up a little...unless those CDs contain nothing but silence.

They're not that expensive, but like I said, the scribbling on the booklet bothers me a little. I might still go out and buy them though.
