The Art Of Musicology on Australian MTV

According to the Sony Music Australian Website

http://www.sonymusic.com....0829000724

Catch The MTV/VH1 Prince Special
Tune into MTV or VH1 this Friday, May 14 at 8.30pm to catch a very special half hour presentation on Prince called 'The Art Of Musicology'. As well as exploring his latest album 'Musicology', the show includes an exclusive performance and interview.
Following his exclusive interview with Rove on Tuesday night, we know plenty of you out there are hungry for more info on the amazing and highly private man of funk, Prince. Make sure you're tuned into either MTV or VH1 this Friday, May 14, for a very special half hour show called 'The Art Of Musicology' that explores the great man himself and his hot new album 'Musicology'. The presentation also includes an exclusive live performance segment and an interview with a MTV news correspondent.

His new album 'Musicology' is not merely a document of mid-career retrospection - it's some of the sharpest and savviest music the man has ever made. Pure and unadulterated Prince, pumping and grinding funk is mixed with his patented nexus of infectious pop melody, acerbic political consciousness, and the unstoppable rhythms of life.

With 'Musicology', Prince is back to show everybody just how it's done; the seamless blend of sweet soul sounds, pulsing post-modern dance grooves, and hard rock riffs filtered through the uncanny and unerring instincts of the greatest one-man band in pop music history. Produced, arranged, composed and per4med by Prince, he also contributes nearly all of the album's instruments and voices.

'Musicology' has been receiving rave reviews around the world and debuted at #3 on the both the US and UK charts and #15 on the Australian charts last week. If you haven't already checked it out, take a listen here

"As appealing, focused and straight-up satisfying an album as Prince has made since who can remember when," Four Stars, Rolling Stone

"It's a welcome return to the music that made him a superstar, and it's not just wishful thinking to say that 'Musicology's better moments are worthy of a place on era-defining classics like 'Purple Rain' or 'Sign O' The Times'," NME

The single and album 'Musicology' out now

once upon a time us Prince fans/'fams' had nothing to go on, now we are getting more stuff than people in the US!!! eek eek

weird, but I am not complaining..... cool

It seemed that Rove had not been prepared adequately for the interview, Prince is notorious for NOT liking interviewers (I.E. Ian "Molly" Meldrum being dismissed from an interview for referring to him as 'lovey'). But he seems to have dropped his guard a bit; I havent seen him this relaxed with the public for ages, not since Emancipation.....Just my Views.....

hey i just watched and taped it. it was pretty good with a video at the start showing highlights of his career with people like alicia keys, ozzy osbourne and mike d (beastie boys) saying how much prince has inspired them and how much they like him. then he played musicology and dear mr man as well as accoustic versions of songs like alphabet st, cream and sometimes it snows in april. lastly was an interview with Sway. biggrin
