The Time What was Prince's involvement with The Time? Did it stop with instrumentation and production?
How far did that production extend? Is there documentation to back up claims? I just listened to Ice Cream Castles (which sounds like something P would've written and features some guitar-playing that sounds more like P than Jesse). The gem that is "Tricky." Listen also to "Chili Sauce," and you hear P doing a really comical Peter Lorre impression and the music sounds totally like him playing. Earlier Time songs have his (sung & spoken) vocals turning up. Just wondering how much of the Minneapolis sound came directly from his fingers...

Prince played and sang on some of The Time's earliest albums as well as producing them. He and Morris were in a band together prior to the formation of The Time, with Morris on drums and Prince on guitar, I can't remember who else was in the group off the top of my head. The Mothership Connection... Funk, Soul, R&B, & Jazz every Monday night @ 8:00 p.m. Listen @ www.wqaq.com (We are off the air 4 the Summer. Returning in early September 2004)

The first album is totally Prince, with just the Time coming in for vocals, right? Maybe Morris did some drums, as he's Prince's buddy. I still listen to the first album alot, as it so ass whoopin good.
