I really think both tracks were weak. Maybe if the Time had done Release It or The Latest Fashion, I would've been more convinced that they were the winners. Neither Tick Tick Bang or Shake did anything for me. | |

for those of us who have danced a little in the purple rain, who have seen time stand still for a moment or two, --aah, we gets it, just a weebit. alright, so maybe i'm just drivelin', but the movie is...unique, to say the least! hey nina, i know Shake was originally in p's mind a slammin song. p. proved that at celebration. that's why i called it the weakest 'recorded' track on GB.
oh, and ticky ticky bang bang holds its own against anything. the dancin', the writhing, the get-up, the 'beat me' on his chest... see, the kid was fallin apart, for aura, and despairing. the mood and tude conveyed in that song is something p. don't show like that too often. and is super-way Fonkkay! think it ain't, when it is, anybody? Right, it is supposed to be lame. According to the storyline, at least from what I remember, the performance of TTB is supposed to be the Kid trying too hard to beat Morris at his own game, not getting the spiritual vibe yet that he needs to "really win."
First half of the movie is bearable for the P fanatic. Past that ... whew. Every now and then
