I have both of those LPs / vinyl that I will evetually put on ebay.
There are much better quality boots of other shows going around, but you're probably not going to find better ones of those 2 shows. Lovesexy Funkateer

'He's Got The Look' is from the New Morning Club after show in Paris - 15th June 1987, and some even rate it as an excellent audience recording. Certainly it is quite high in treble (the cymbals at the beginning of the first track are very prominent). I suspect that the recording is popular amongst fans because it was one of the earliest after show recordings to circulate and revealed the relaxed improvisational side of Prince's musicianship for the first time to many. 'Under thge London Moon' is a recording of Princes first night at Wembley Arena in 1986 - 12th August. It's generally rated as audience good or very good (which means it's not great quality). . By comparison, there are soundboard recordings from 1986 and 1987 which excel in sound quality. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Hey there.
I have been looking around at different boots myself. An invaluable link I found is www.thedatabank.org. They list everything on CD, CDR and DVD. There are notes as to the date, tracks, times and places and what you it is (outtakes/live) and what the sound source is. There may be comments that go with it as to YAY or NAY you should get item or not. IT IS AN INFO ONLY WEB PAGE. If you are going with Outtakes...I highly suggest Cosmos/Dreams/Fantasia as a start...they are only 3 disks each. Any of them are a good starting place. If you really want to delve...find The WOrk Vols 1-5. They are a 20 disk compilation that really gets to the stuff. By this time you are studying the music. The WOrk VOlumes are excellent! After that, even deeper is Testament which is 4 DVDs that boasts over 50 hours of outtakes. So, if you want to go there..have fun. Format is MP3's, but you are getting stuff that sounds like it does MP3/CD.. whatever. You are getting the stuff...most of it...in whatever quality that is out there. I like the WOrk VOls as most of it is decent quality. If you want to go the Live route...that's a bit more tricky as you have soundboard and audience recordings mixed in. You have older concerts sounding better than new ones. You need to do your homework on these. Some are just awful. Some are OK in sound but are quintisential to have i.e the Purple Rain concert with the Shelia E opening is a must have. My first was Septembre. I did get to hear it first before I got it. It was ok quality..but I nothing to compare it to...it was my first ever live recording bought. I got lucky. Not only is it listed as one of the better concerts, but it was the last revolution show and the quaility from what I read is pretty good (not as good as others). What I would do is pick a time era/tour and check out the year of all of the boots from that time...and pick one that come recommended or has the set list you are looking for and go hunting! Hopefully I have provided some useful info and didn't provide too much to lock the thread. Christian Zombie Vampires

I think with regards to live bootlegs most people would recommend Small Club. An aftershow at Het Paard van Troje, The Hague in 1988. This show is marked for it's excellent sound quality and the tight performance including an improvised, unrealsed track entitled 'People Without'.

Forgot about The People Without song. One of few he has done live but has yet to record. I think I have heard this or is on one of my old tapes. It ok. Kinda preachy from what I remember. However, the After Jam Boots are special for the reasons pointed out. They are much more looser, include covers and newer material that he is testing on the audience. AND the long funk jams are outstanding. Christian Zombie Vampires

You all NEED to get get Club Vega (Copenhagen we be shakin') from 2002. OMFG, this is one of the best boots i've ever heard. Soundboard aftershow featuring Whole Lota Love, Bambi, All The Critics etc What more do you want? It's the shit!
As far as i know, it's the only soundboard gig in circulation from The ONA era. There are some good audience recordings kicking around though. Recent stuff? Look out for Fillmore 14t & 15th Feb '04 on freeology. Great audience recording. [This message was edited Mon May 10 12:15:14 2004 by Marrk]

People Without was a spaced out free-form rant against drugs... and for the most part, one LOOONNNNNG boring song... trying to make this spacey thing, but, unless I was at the show, (and even THEN, I mighta siezed the moment to go get another beer and fire one up) it's pretty uninteresting.
