Siskel & Ebert said it best

In 1987 Siskel & Ebert who were big Prince fans were reviewing the Sign O The Times concert film and something that Siskel said has always stuck with me he said in 1941 Orson Welles made the oscar winning movie Citizen Kane early in his career and it was so popular that anything that Orson Welles did after that people would say "that was ok but its no Citizen Kane!" and Siskel was afraid the same thing would happen to Prince and sure enough it did Prince comes out with something new and people say "it's ok but its no lovesexy!" or "it sucks its no Purple Rain!" "compared to Sign O The Times this sucks" and so on which is really ashame because when you do that you tend to miss out on a lot of good music trying to compare it to others and it's really no fair to Prince..let's try to enjoy the music Prince puts out and lets stop waiting for Prince's followup to "Citizen Kane"
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

I stopped believing he had another Citizen Kane in him a long time ago.

When he releases good music (Xpectation, TRC), I give praise, when a song is shite (NEWS, Life O' The Party), I say it like it is to me.

I agree. I Never Compare albums. I Always actually Love his New album as the Favorite or the Best. What I will listen to over and over again. Like the Vibe is now on Musicology. The Excitement is Musicology. Why talk bout the past stuff ya know that thing. I always dig on Prince's Fresh Approach to life and not stagnating in Past or Wallowing in Sorrows. I think if we were as Forward looking and Fresh as Prince we would tend to be Happier. Prince is Right with Things...I do say Trust His Instinct. And enjoy Each Album Seperate.

...now if Michael Jackson would only grasp this concept, he would be just as successful.
Michael unlike Prince, is always trying to create another "Thriller". I say, stop trying and move on.
