New 'Single' Revealed

I found this on AllAccess.com, a radio industry information website I frequent.

It wouldn't have been my choice, I would have gone with "If Eye Was The Man In Your Life" or "Reflection" but this seems to be really popular too. Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned but NPG/Columbia won't release any physical singles... or CD singles as most know them as. I'm pretty sure that'll save both parties alot of cash on distribution. I assume a video will be released.

Great - it should be! This could get played on pop radio in a way that Musicology and many others wouldn't.

It's actually a catchy song I can see many people I know liking, even though they aren't into Prince. I even caught my wife singing along to it the other day!

Now, get a good video and start playing the song live!

I'm not big on the whole promotion/hits thing, but if he's proud of the song, which this suggests, it makes sense to play it live, especially when people will clearly love it.

easily the worst song on the record

Oh well this record really won't last long at all afterall

At least a very strong video would help push cinnamon girl..but A Million Days is so bland its not even funny. Its the only song I haven't even listend to in its so weak

I understand wantig to get on PoP radio and all but this song is really weak

Maroon 5 Incubus and others are doing this type of song so much strogner than this effort from P. I wish him luck with it though

Let´s wait until we know more about forthcoming songs.
Always these speculations here at org.
Omg, it´s like discussing in a pre-school.

I like that it's an uptempo pop song, and different from MUSICOLOGY which is funky and more R&B. Hopefully both songs get played in some sort of rotation bcuz that is P's strength versatility. 2 different vibes and sounds without a rap on either song. Now i like some of P's rap stuff but since every1 else got hiphop producers and rappers on thier cd's Janet,Usher, and others his stuff will b different!

I think it's a great choice. The song is pure pop, it's catchy, hell, it even (in a very discrete and tucked away type of manner) bares a an ever so slight resemblance to LRC. Can't go wrong! cool

It'll be interesting to see how well it does. Musicology hasn't been out long and this song probably wouldn't get as many spins on the stations that embraced Musicology as before. Personally, I think the song brings the CD down... that and On The Couch. confused

Don't sweat it cousin it's going 2 b a long tour and the cd will start 2 grow on people. Prince is not and has never been a fast food artist. So just sit back and relax!

For you to even remotely compare that weak ass song to a classic like Little Red Corvette is sacrilege. There is no comparison none whatsoever.

Not nearly as infectious, not the hook, chorus, lyrics, or guitar of LRC...Just an absurd statement

No matter who you are and what type of music you love you nod your head to LRC. That is the very essence of a POP song and LRC is one of the best EVER!!!!

If A Million was nearly as strong I would say it. Some of you here really amaze. I guess I shouldn't assume that just because all of us are prince fans that we know a great song when we hear one

A Million Days is just awful

I'm sure that I'm posting this in the wrong place, but I've got two xtra Prince tickets for the Pallace show in Michigan, in June. They're in the upper bowl, but hey, seats are seats. If any one knows of any one (perhaps a non-NPGMC member) who might be interested, let me know.

Peace

GREAT NEWS!!! Hope it´s going to be a proper release with nice new b-sides, remixes and a great video. It could do really well, it´s the best choice for a single-release in my opinion

If "Little Red Corvette" and "Dolphin" met on the prince album and had a baby it would sound like "A Million Days". An excellent choice for a single. This song is being given the chance that "So Far, So pleased" should have been given.

I see that I've caused a slight run in your panty hose. You really should consider calming down, it aint that deep. I'm entitled to my opinion, and my opinion is as stated. If you don't happen to agree with it, that'a OK. I could care less. Long after the foam has dried from around your mouth, my point will remain the same. "A Million days," the way that it starts out, reminds me of LRC. There I said it again. I hope you don't commit suicide cool

Again just crazy...A Million Days sounds nothing like So Far which in its own right was little too sappy. Just two completely different types of records

VaVoom, Cinnamon Girl, & Cream are similar songs. At least the hooks in those songs could have anyone siging along

Man I'm dispointed in a Million Days is its true. The song is not up to snuff and clearly doesn't deserve to be a single

this is the SMARTEST single choice for prince in a VERY long time.

what a relief, call my name would have been the kiss of death.

this is the obvious choice for a second single.

i am not saying it is the the most earth shattering, ground breaking acheivement in music, but neither is the album.
i dont think that is the purpose of this album.

i think this will do the best job in getting at least some airplay, etc. going through the summer.

Anyone know if Columbia's choosing the singles? He let Arista choose them with Rave, eh?

I couldn't agree more! SFSP was great, and could have kicked ass on pop radio.

If this is true, I can understand why this was chosen. In the struggle to figure out whether a ballad or uptempo tune would be more beneficial to the promotion of the record, they put out the tune that is both. "A Million Days" starts off sounding like a ballad in the verses, and then gets rockin' guitar in the chorus. Maybe they'll add some concert footage in this video to promote the tour as well.
