yeah , remember this week you have to add 60,000-80,000 (?) for the 5 shows he did 4/22-4/28 to get the Soundscan/Billboard total. should keep him in the Top 5.

He's currently a shade below 10,000 with about 13% of the returns in. That puts him currently in 4th place. But that's without the concert totals.

Prince will likely stay at no 3 this week once the concert sales are added, he is looking at 90,000 retail sales! With the 80,000 concert sales thats 170,000 copies only 20,000 less than 1st week totals!

Total U.S. sales could be 350,000 by the end of the week!

Bye, Usher. Hope you had fun at #1 because it looks like your time there is up.

I'm really eek at D12's numbers. They didn't do that well before.

hmm, no 5 now, but still adding on the 60-80,000 could keep him at no 3! 2nd week sales are not that impressive at retail tho, its a shame because i feel if columbia had organised a proper single/video/mtv/radio play this album could have exploded! It is with this in mind that i feel prince will not top Diamonds And Pearls in the US!

Anyway just for info, how many copies did D&P sell in the US!

I couldn't disagree more!

These early figures are fantastic when you consider that the hardcore fans have already bought the album and and tens of thousands of casual fans have concert tickets and are waiting to get their copies at the shows.

"Musicology" is an unqualified commercial success.

Peace, David

i agree Livewire...this is great considering how fast Prince's last couple albums have sunk in the charts

No, but they never had a smash single before either. "My Band", however
grating it is on your ears, is a bonafide smash.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

They seem to be pretty good numbers but could be much better if he had a smash single with lots of radio play.

Bring on A Million Days asap.

Final numbers will be in, in a few hours. Looks like it's going to be in the neighborhood of 90-100 thousand. Then add 60-80 thousand (? guessing ) to come up with Billboard/Soundscan total.
