Musicology gets 4 out of 5 in Q magazine

Q Magazine (supposedly "The Ultimate Rock 'N' Roll Magazine!?) has given Musicology 4 out of 5. Review as follows:-
He's good again. No, really!
A recent appearance at the Grammys with Beyoncé, an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and now a deal with Sony. Prince Rogers Nelson, it appears, is ready for a serious comeback. The timing could not be better. As OutKast rule the world with Andre 3000's Prince inspired Hey Ya!, Prince himself has created his best work in many a long year. Yes, it's been a while and Musicology isn't perfect, but the best songs - the elegant, post-Iraq love song Call My Name, the sweetly nostalgic Reflection, The James Brown-referencing title track - prove that the greatest artist of the 1980s can still turn it on.

As you can see, they are the ultimate rock and roll magazine as they say OutKast rule the world and they call this an album review! (PLEASE NOTE this is a sarcastic comment.)
We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good

They called "The Gold Experience" -'Healthier', but 'no real return to form' and concluded
by stating

"If treading water was a sport, Prince would make it to the olympics"

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Revolution - so you missed the part in "Call My Name" where Prince talks about how he heard on the news that the people want to "stop the war" - he hardly plays on the war issue in this song, but it is a neat way of introducing the theme (which is continued in Cinnamon Girl and Mr. Man)??!! WTF?!!!!

This is one of the things that make the album so successful and cohesive - the fact that many themes and issues are dealt with on the album, but are all nicely inter-played throughout the songs.
...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

Q Magazine - What a joke!!!
When I was a younger man i used to put some stock in what that magazine had to say, but the basic fact is that they are a crowd of tossers trying to write things that make thamselves sound clever. They appear to know fuck all about music, they never comment on musicianship or technical merits of the tunes and usually spend most of any album review writing rubbish that is unrelated to the album itself. Classic english music mag stuff.
It has been fun to watch these clowns trip themselves up over the years (e.g. their 5-star review of oasis 'be here now', a bloated pile of shit that noel gallagher later admitted was a load of ass). They are not a shit mag cos they gave 'gold' by prince a bad review (it was fun but no great shakes) but because they do not review music in their music reviews.
Musicianship frightens these people, they are only interested in trends, hype or the certainties determined already by time and consensus.
Every decent prince album of the last 13 years has been referred as the best album he has made in years - these morons cant even remember to check that they loved 'emancipation' and 'the rainbow children' without claiming that 'musicology' is some sort of return to fucking form. These cocksuckers probably only reviewed it cos sony told them to because they sure as fuck didnt seem to have any interest in telling the general public what is going on on the record itself.
Cocksuckers.

Well said. Q magazine has long since been a bastion of 2 a detailed argued review". The musicology one was the laziest piece of journalism ive read in years!
