No way! Tick Tick Bang is one of my FAVES!! And how could u not like Arms of Orion? Eh, like they say, opinions (especially mine) are like assholes ... everybody's got one and they usually stink.

the chorus is a bit wishy washy but the interrupted 'epic' cadence and Prince's vocals later on are lovely!

u guys are wrong about 'life of the party'. The opening (with the female voice) to the track is bloody awful, but after that it develops into something quite cool.

i think ya'll should best leave Tick Tick Bang alone...that song is a slam dunk. my boy Hiin Enkelte is gonna be hurt by that one...but yup, other than that, the list is pretty solid.

Ahhhhh.....Jughead.....I hate to sound like some psycho "fam," but I didn't really hate any song from For You to Graffiti Bridge. Sure, the song "Graffiti Bridge" was syrupy and over-wrought, and often got skipped, but I could deal with it. But the very first time I heard "Jughead" I thought "...the Hell?"

I knew Prince had finally made I song I couldn't stand. Which is pretty awesome coming 14 years into his career. Most of the Prince songs I don't care for are boring or unengaging to me. But "Jughead" got on my nerves. It sounded dated even back then. And usually Prince's weaker songs (like "Graffiti Bridge") were surrounded by so many other incredible songs it made them more listenable to me. Diamonds & Pearls had a couple of clunkers though. "Daddy Pop," "Push".....ahh, the dark days of Tony M.

I Rock would actually be ok without that god-awful rapping. Tick Tick Bang and We Gets Up do not deserve to be on this list (in fact, I put We Gets Up on a mix not too long ago...what exactly is the problem with this one? very different sounding for P and one of the few up-tempo tracks fromt that ablum). Life O' The Party, eh...not so bad.

I would have added "Family Name." I know people disagree, and I admit it jams, but the lyrics just plain bother me, for reasons that many have articulated before.

I don't want to turn this thread into one about this song (been done before), but surely you're aware that Family Name has alienated some fans or at least potential fans. Many interpret it differently, but frankly, I interpret it as anti-semetic and ill advised. That's just the way I feel.

I know Prince and most fans deny that the song is anti-semetic, but the tone is woven into the song. He could easily have addressed the forced changing of blacks' names (and slavery, less directly) without making comparisons to the Jewish experience. True that both situations were horrible and hurtful, but it's idiotic to compare the two, which he clearly does. They were fundamentally different.
