i just want to start a thread on how brilliant prince's music really is. i basically grew up with prince and learned so much from him.. the depth of his musical world and inner space is basically eternity. i was listening to some of the albums 2nite, vibin on it, playing with it- sign, come, lovesexy, symbolalbum, wathcin the shows and on and on--- it blows my mind how brilliant all his music is! he's recorded so much amazing music. each year/album an era unto itself, a new vibe, sound, style, development-- it's crazy-
the splits, the clothes, great guitar playing,
dynamic/expressive singing, composition,
slappin on the bass, pno, visionary production, stories, funkster, partyman, mystic, master musician, bandleader, spiritual quests, teacher WOW

i feel he's one of the greatest artists. he probably doesn't get half the props he should but whateva, it's all good... i know all of u get it. i hope he feels loved for all he's given cuz it really does make a difference in the universe when someone is able to share themselves and their inspiration so passionately with the world.

i've had a few funk groups here that performed alot of prince songs. it was wild learning all the different arrangements of the songs from all the live material. my musician friends really got onboard with prince around symbol, come, gold, exodus- we were all vibin on the great jams and that great band- tha npg michealb, sonnyt, morris, tommy, and may te...

i wish i could speak to prince about spirituality- it's all good tho, i know he feels the true essence of life.

I think, one of the best things about Prince and his music is, that he is constantly growing and with each new album or tour we are able to share in the experience. He is definately not one to get stuck in a rut with the same sound and look, year after year, album after album. He makes you want it!Whether or not you like it after you've been given a taste is another story, but the craving is still there. Now, if only we were able to be blessed with listening to those sounds that are tucked away in the vault...
