If Musicology is a success, Prince WILL record a "Purple Rain" type album That's what I think he's going to do. Let's face it, he's playing for the masses now. Not that's a bad thing, it's just that he NOW wants to sell records. He needs to showcase his guitar skills, and needs to have his next album be mostly upbeat. Hence, a rock album of "Purple Rain" esque sound.
I'm not saying he'll record a record that sound just like PR, but one with those elements with an updated sound. I do not think he will record with Wendy or Lisa. Or any1 else from the Revolution for that matter. That would be going backwards in Prince's mind and he'll never do that. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

I agree,,,,Man, in all seriousness, as much as I like the Musicology album, I can't help hope it's like his "1999" album in the sense that it's Prince's predecessor to something amazing. Musicology has got everybody's attention again, I'd really like to see something really spectacular now. For example, I don't care what style, (preferably accessible!) something really well produced, (i thought so many songs on Musicology suffered because of the production), and some AMZING guitar work, (minus the cheesy synth sounds!)
Man, it would just kick ass if the next album was an absolute monster. Just my opinion. "I have a date with Lisa. Isn't that wonderful?" | |
