Prince on MJ: "Genius"

I don't know if this has been posted yet. Yesterday Prince was on the Doug Banks Morning Show and was asked to play "word association". He was asked in one word, what does he think of Michael Jackson. He replied, "Genius". Then he was asked in one word what does he think of Janet and he replied "genius' sister." lol

genius, eh? well, that's nice.

that's very unlike Prince, to compliment his contemporaries. oh sure, he'll pick out a few newcomers occasionally (your Jill Scotts, Angie Stones, Nikka Costas, Alicia Keyes, Eryka Badus, etc.) and praise them, because they bow at the alter of all things purple. or he'll start singing the praises of some washed-up has-been that he's signed to his record label or play in his band (Larry, Chaka, George, Mavis, Maceo, etc.). but a compliment to his contemporaries, that's quite rare.

interesting....

Did have, 15 years ago.

It seems his only talent at the moment is being talked about.

I'm glad when they said "Janet" he didn't say "Titty" !!

Maybe this is because Mike is an ex-Witness. Infact you can probably trace the beginnings of MJ's problems back to the year he left the JW's. 1987.

Prince has attended the odd MJ show i believe.

The way i see MJ is as a tragic case of the 20th century, an artificial genius raised by greed. Like if you got a baby and raised it in a secluded environment, feeding and showering it just enough, while teaching it music constantly, day and night. In the end, you would have a socially maligned, bizarro freak who would be a phenomenal genius musician. Is that not an apt description of MJ today?

Just my two cents worth.

Apart from the artificial bit. There's no doubt in my mind that he has a natural talent.

Michael Jackson was born to make music. He was put on this earth to entertain.

Was he? Or was he just forced into talent by an abusive parent?

Isn't MJ a Jehovah's Witness too? I would think that's the reason.
