Prince and Simon Cowell

Haha...

Was on a Simon Cowell website just now...was lookin for some of his quotes...cos i think he's got one heck of a tongue and suddenly i came across this...

He appeared on the TV show Hollywood Squares and was asked a very interesting question.

Host: "He was known as Prince, then he was known as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. What is he now?"

Simon: 'The artist who formerly sold records."

Lol.

TurnItUp

In 5 years, maybe not even that long. We'll see who'll be around Simon or Prince and Madonna. I heard said Madonna was over. After American Idol gets cancelled, we'll see whether or not that muthasucka is hear to stay or will go back into obscurity. Let's hope for the latter.

I kind of like Simon Cowell, but his reputation as a witty provider of put-downs is overstated. Even our own EWM is capable of better. He overuses some adjectives and phrases and his analogies are only occasionally original. I think he knows this , because he has toned down his schtick -- I see him struggling not to become his own worst caricature.

I used to love Simon, but then he just started saying the same kind of lines over and over. EWM makes me laugh way more with his insults.

As you'll see from my username, I'm from the UK - specifically England.

We knew of Simon Cowell well before the US witnessed his sharp tongue. However, although he is marketed as the King of Put-Downs, he isn't actually saying negative things for negativity's sake. He is merely giving an honest perspective.

I've heard people sing on Pop Idol (UK)/American Idol (US) who SHOULD be told that they are awful.

Out of the judges available, one will kiss their arse, another will tell them all they need to do is 'tweak their pitch' and all will be fine, then Cowell comes along and tells the truth. Alas, he is seen as the bad guy because of this.

He's actually a really good listener and is perceptive to the faults of a perspective.

However, about his P comment. He can kiss my spotty, white behind!

In fairness he was quoted as saying that the song Purple Rain is the perfect record.

He would wonder what happened to "Justin Gurani" the guy Simon picked on American Idol.
