Anyone remember the Simon Bates Radio 1 Special?

So do you? It was an amazing 20 minute (or so) performance. Did you go? Anyone got a recording? I have got it on tape somewhere - maybe in the attic.

If I remember right it had a great performance of Peach.

Yes - I remember the Simon Bates Show, I also have it on tape. He did a fabulous performance of Pope also. The last person to play a live gig in that studio was Jimi Hendrix and they subsequently banned all further live broadcasts because of the noise.....a special exception was made for Prince.

i went to that gig. it was amazing. peach sounded awsome and america also sounded really funky and slightly quicker than normal. i lost my tape of this performance but it was unlike any other show i've ever seen. obviously it was short but i remember the house lights were on and it was pretty intimate due to the size of the room. prince wore a purple suit and basically blew everyone away. a great performance.

I've got some details for you....I climbed up into the attic to find the cassette and borrowed a tape player from someone.

Venue: Concert Hall, BBC Broadcasting House, London

Track listing:

1999
Baby I'm A Star
America
D.M.S.R.
Pope
Peach

Total time 18:51

Line up seemed to be Prince, Michael B, Levi? Who else was there? NPG Hornz?

Can anyone tell me what the date was?

Is this the concert from "The Sacrifice Of Victor"? I really enjoy that vid
