Musicology (single) review in The Guardian Prince: Musicology (Columbia)
"Prince, New Power Generation Records and Sony Music Entertainment Announce Worldwide Alliance for Musicology..." So bugles, biblically, Sony's official declaration of His Resurrection. Which sounds like some corporation-showbiz "Coalition Of The Willing". No wonder, if someone genuinely gigantic doesn't sell 100m albums before Christmas, the music-business is finished. Alas, Musicology is the sound of Prince having his pals round for a wiggly funkadelic "jam", with no mind whatsoever to crafting an actual song. Weirdly this review came out today so looks like nobody thought to tell The Guardian that the single release date has been pushed back....

I was planning a rare trip to Virgin on Tuesday - would it be a waste of time??

This is a very lazy review. What would he have said about Outkast's Hey Ya?!
Single out on 12th April. A good funky little song in my opinion. Album out the following Monday (19th).

The music reviewer for the Guardian can be very cutting (in fact down right rude and personally insulting) - so Prince got off very lightly.
"Musicology is the sound of Prince having his pals round for a wiggly funkadelic "jam", with no mind whatsoever to crafting an actual song." I agree - it's what a lot of fans have been saying, where's the tune?

Hmm - I do wonder how this will do as a single in the UK. Most people think he is dead or still called sqiggle.
I reckon top 20 hit. | |

OK, I'm out of the loop: The single is being released to stores in the U.S. too, right? Can anyone tell me what day?

Musiclogy is pretty boring. I'd rather listen to Hey Ya
