Cincinnati setlist From memory, these are songs Prince did last night in Cincy (no part. order):
Let's Go Crazy Soul Man (Sam & Dave)-- sung very well by the keyboardist Hot Pants (James Brown)-- a highlight! Purple Rain-- the encore The Question of U Kiss Take Me With U Baby I'm a Star-- which opened with a snippet of 1999 A very cool song that, I think, he wrote for Mary J Blige; everybody was singing along. 7 Controversy Sign O The Times Flashlight (PFunk)-- just a snippet Let's Work-- another highlight! I Feel For You I'm sure I'm leaving out some, but these are what I remember right now. I'll think of them later. There was only one encore, and the show lasted exactly 2 hours (he started at 8 for an advertised 7:30 start; cool because traffic was bad). As opposed to the 4 other shows I've seen on different tours, he did not play piano. In fact, he only played guitar-- no bass, even. I was struck by how scaled back his dancing is these days. He didn't do the splits once. Very restrained in that way, but he set a high standard for that part of his performance in past years (Anybody know what's up with that?). Thanks. Hope this is interesting to you who have tickets for upcoming shows.

I Feel For You Seems like his setlist for most of this tour seems to be the same. I'd love to see him perform some obscure tunes like 17 Days or Automatic or gawd ....Alexa de Paris (i think i'd loose my mind). Come on Prince....mix it up for the Raleigh show. Pretty please!!! More Parade stuff. Pull out Welcome To the Rat Race. I'm sure I'm leaving out some, but these are what I remember right now. I'll think of them later. The next one will probably have lots of obscure stuff, b-sides, etc. Musicology has got me really excited about what's coming next.

The thing about the setlist though, is that there are literally TONS of his biggest hits that never get played...stuff like Cream, Alphabet Street, etc....and while I TOTALLY love that he throws in an "obscure" tune like A Question of U, I gotta wonder, "WHERE THE HELL IS MOUNTAINS?!!!"
Not only was it a sizable hit...it's also one of the most fantastic songs ever recorded. But the songs that he does play are pretty slammin'... It's a DAMN shame that he apparently has decided not to play The Beautiful Ones for the rest of the tour (or maybe just not in the Midwest?) - wonder what that's all about? Also no "Nothing Compares 2 U" (which is totally cool with me, b/c for some reason I am SO tired of that song)... I wonder why he is playing such short shows? I know for most bands 2 hours would be a good length, but man it feels like 10 minutes, I swear. It would be exciting if there was just a little bit of room for him to throw in an extra song or something on a night when he's really feeling it...which he claimed he was last night. And Oh my God, traffic in Cincinnati around the arena was the biggest fucking joke. Thanks to 3 completely inept traffic cops, 4 incredibly stupid parking attendants, full parking lot after full parking lot, a misleading sign for the Will Call window (which is on the complete opposite side of the arena from where the actual Will Call window was), a ridiculously rude attendant at the Will Call window who looked for my tickets for a few minutes before asking "Did you buy them through the fan club?", and an equally rude "NPGMC" attendant who was at the window right next to her who had been watching this go down without showing any signs of life whatsoever (FYI, I'm fairly certain she was simply another arena employee), we were told by the oh-so-unfriendly woman as she gave us our tickets, "They're on the fourth song." Um....okay? Then once we get into the place, absolutely nobody has any clue where to tell us to go. The sections on the ticket are not related at all to any of the signage in the arena, and I kid you not, at least 4 "ushers" simply would not even look at my ticket, because they were too busy watching the show!! Luckily, Prince made up for it by putting on an amazing show. I don't know what it was last night, but I sure got a horrible impression of Cincinnati...I mean I felt like I was in NYC or something except without any of the amenities. Just no need for the rudeness and incompetence displayed by virtually every employee we had to interact with. OK, rant over. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

i was at the show last night too. and the traffic was off the hook. i arrived at the parking garage at 5:30. it was raining last night, and i had to walk around the other side of the bldg, to pick up my tickets at the will call window. it would have been nice if we could have went inside to get our tickets, instead of standing out in the rain. once inside i thought the ushers were so polite, well the ones that i encountered. i was shown to my seat without asking for help.i was sitting on the second row in seat #16, right on the end.Prince was awesome and is so good looking and sexy.did anyone go to the NPG after party at Jillian's?

I didn't go to Jillian's. Anybody else go? I assumed that he might just make an appearance with no performance, so we didn't bother. Plus it was still raining and we'd been out in it all day.
