Musicology Posters on the streets in London Just wanted to let you know, if you did not already, that there were Musicology posters posted up in London this morning.
Nice to know that the marketing for the album launch is heating up.

Yep, that's my plan - he's not a huge Prince fan, so I like to point out his greatness whenever I can

Saw them on the back of a phone box on Shaftesbury Avenue, between New Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road.
Happy hunting. | |

Yeah I did a double take this morning at Liverpool Street St on my way down to the Central Line, two Prince posters of Musicology. Outkast adverts had previously been there for a few weeks, seems Prince has been plastered over the top!!

so my question is this...
words or pictures? is it a teaser campaign with just "musicology" and those dead tree like things from the [gulp] album cover. or is it a branding exercise as in pictures of Prince - awareness raising etc. Hey, perhaps I should work in marketing?

Kind of just the album cover (which is a bit crappy)
There is the title graphics. And a line something like 'The new album from Prince' Then the launch date. Simple and effective.

I saw the Prince poster at Liverpool St today. I thought the words "Prince" and "Musicology" could have been more prominent, but hey, I'm glad it was there.
P.S. Does anybody know why the underground was sort of shut at Liverpool St this morning?

I've seen them all over the place in central London the last day.
One major problem with the poster is - you can't read any of the text unless you're pretty close-up - the colour of the font is just too similar to the picture. That's a schoolboy error.

There's even one in Aberdeen.
I tried to rip it off the wall, but ended up tearing it half off the wall and ruining it I guess I spolied Prince's Scottish advertising comeback. Sorry P.
