Weird analyzation of Illusion, Coma, Pimp, and Circumstance. OK, let me just say that first of all, I was pretty when I listened to it lastnight. I then noticed that almost the whole album was about marriage in one way or another. Illusion, Coma, Pimp, and Circumstance to me could be the stages of marriage. Why was I reminded of his current wife when I listened to this song? Was it just the ?

On the way to work today, I was thinking that this is about record companies. He hipped her to the funk in exchange for the finance...

I see this song as an updated version of Girls and Boys, 'cept it's a WAY older woman.

The song's about an old, ugly woman who has more money than God. She meets a good looking young man, and becomes his sugar mama. Thus, the "who's pimpin' who" line. It could be viewed as a metaphor for a whole lotta stuff (like Vina pointed out the record company scenario), but I tend to think its just a fun, funky little story. Not too deep, just a slammin' track. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Huh? In "Girls and Boys" it's all romance. The guy is genuinely in love with the girl, and goes practically insane when he can't have her. In "Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance" the dude's using an ugly broad for her money. Where's the connection? The Normal Whores Club

Other than the Girl and boy thing, there's nuthin else. My bad. I retract my statement. Thanx for makin' me look at it again. the first way to being a better person is to admit when U're wrong. Hopefully this pans out. [This message was edited Fri Apr 2 10:25:04 2004 by BobGeorge999]

Holy shit!" Okay, I'm just playing with you. It takes a real man to acknowledge a mistake. I should know. I used to be one. Okay, I'm playing again. Or am I? The Normal Whores Club

Yeah, like in the C'mon video, he has words going across the screen interpreting the lyrics to be about "fans" I think. And then when he said in that Chris Rock interview that Let's Go Crazy was about God, and the De-elevator was Satan... I think he does things like this more than we realize.

i instantly thought about the older lady that flashes on the screen as a memory of Christopher's (UTCM movie) - she saying "chris-toe-fer, chris-toe-fer, let's get together again" or something like that . . . maybe the song is about her character in that film, eh? music is its own reward - Sting

Could be about a may december romance that is a good analysis. But I really think it's about someone's cocaine addiction.
