Burning Musicology to CD

Anybody done it yet?

I downloaded the tracks at lunch time and tried to burn with Nero, but it said the file format was not recognised. Can you actually burn a cd from within Media player? If not, what is the best software to use to do it?

I can get it to CD by playing the tracks and recording them with some sample editing software, then saving as .wav and burning, but that's gonna be a pain.
RIP sad

You can burn it using the player. I did and it worked fine! biggrin

On the left hand side bar on the player one tab says "copy to Cd or device". Just click on that and the rest is easy.

Thanks for the speedy replies, I will try it when I get back home.

Can't wait to get it on the Hi-Fi and listen to it properly cranked up. Only listened to snippets of each track as I was downloading it earlier, sounds good so far.
RIP sad

Have you checked that 'copy protected contents' is selected in Tools / Options? Otherwise check you are running that latest version of WM9

I'm not really sure where to check (running a German version). I can listen to the files, so I guess that means I have the latest version?

On the 'Copy Music' tab around the middle of the screen just under the drop-down box for the 'Format' there is three check boxes the top one should be 'checked' for 'copy protected' music.

I am pulling at straws here but just trying to help....

Yeah, the same for me! It plays alright, but it won't copy. If I check the properties of the files it says that there is no copy to cd license! Aaaargh!!!!!

Help!

I'm afraid mine does have a license. Have you emailed the special NPGMC DRM technical email address? perhaps they can resend a license?

Have you tried downloading the file again from 'Your Account' to see if it downloads another license?

I dont know what to do. I've got similar problems with the german version. Either the programm causes an error ("Das Programm hat einen Fehler verursacht) or it tolds me to restart the computer before copy. But nothing works! GRRR!

Yeah, I wish I could do the same thing. Nero won't find the licenses and Roxio won't do Disc-At-Once. Kind of spoils the way each song flows into the next.

Still, great album.

I tried downloading again but I think it doesn't download another license. Still doesn't work.

Do you get the gap only when playing the CD via normal audio equipment or within Windows Media Player as well?

I have not listened to my CD yet but WMP plays what it appears to be seamlessly.

It all segues fine whilst playing on WMP, but the Disc burns with the 2 second pause with seemingly no way to change it sad

I haven't tried this yet, but in File / Properties / License it should give you details about whether you have a copy to cd licence or not.

Mine says I have a licence to playback, and to copy to CD until 30 March, 2104.

So i've got 100 years to get around to burning. cool

Have you tried converting the WMA files to WAV files before burning them?

I use a program called dB Power Amp for a lot of stuff like this. I've never had a problem with it - including converting licensed WMA files to WAV. Its so good, it could probably convert water into wine! biggrin

Here's the website: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

It seems all the licenses are different. I am licensed to burn the 2 singles I downloaded but not Musicology... I do normally convert to wav but was also told I'm not authorised to do that (by MusicMatch). I will try that application as well but I don't like my chances.

Can anyone work out how to clear licenses so they re-download? And if it's safe to do so?

Ok, I downloaded Musicology BEFORE I upgraded to windows media 9. Everything I downloaded after that will write to a CD, so I am guessing the license is messed up because I didn't have wm9 installed at download time.

I have tried re-downloading, but obviously the original license has installed itself somewhere on the PC.

The conversion tools will not work with the licensed files, so that's a waste of time, so the question is, how do we get rid of corrupt license codes and get the correct ones ?

I will lay money down that everyone who can play the files but not write them to CD will get "Playback not allowed" and "CD Burning not alllowed" if they right click on the file in WinMedia9 and look at the license properties.

Anyone know how to get rid of the license and then download again ? Is that even possible ?
