Ok, I downloaded Musicology BEFORE I upgraded to windows media 9. Everything I downloaded after that will write to a CD, so I am guessing the license is messed up because I didn't have wm9 installed at download time.

I have tried re-downloading, but obviously the original license has installed itself somewhere on the PC.

The conversion tools will not work with the licensed files, so that's a waste of time, so the question is, how do we get rid of corrupt license codes and get the correct ones ?

I will lay money down that everyone who can play the files but not write them to CD will get "Playback not allowed" and "CD Burning not alllowed" if they right click on the file in WinMedia9 and look at the license properties.

Anyone know how to get rid of the license and then download again ? Is that even possible ?

Read your Orgnotes. wink

I should have added... I meant convert to a WAV file without having to burn the WMA9 files to a CD and ripping it.

Well this worked for me -

at work i have wmp 9
downloaded onto there
popped blankmedia in - dialogue opened and i clicked choose media to add to cd
it opened wm9 - i chose musicology
clicked to copy music - did so fine so long as i followed aboce order

i then took burned disc home
opened up wmp 9

popped burned disc in and copied from cd onto player
had to tell it all the tracklists etc but went on fine

have also copied back off my home pc onto another cd - a copy of a copy in effect

i have a license to BUUUURRRRRNN!

hope the above helps - worked for musicology, the chocolate invaion and the slaughterhouse downloads

MAC users!
First you need something like this: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/

Using this program, you can load the wma files into the program and record them into another format and save the new songs as anything you like as to put them into your i-tunes and/or i-pod.

I haven't downloaded anything as of yet and am very hesitant to do so after reading about all of the fiasco involved. neutral

Which version of Nero are you using? It doesn't work with 6.0.0.20.
