okay..now seems like a LOT of people who kept wishing that Prince was commercially viable again are now bitching because now they have to "share" the man with newer, more casual fans. Well, you can't have it both ways. Remember the Purple Rain heydey? You couldn't score a ticket without paying some big bucks. I'm sure Santana and Tina Turner just loved it before they made their big commercial comebacks...small little intimate concerts, lots of chummy chummy type atmospheres, soundcheck discussions etc. I'm sure Madonna and Bruce Springsteen fans aren't bitching this much about not being able to be on the front row of an arena concert (let alone not paying $200+ to do so, either).
Prince is a hot commodity right now...it'll pass eventually. I've seen him perform with 20,000 fans , 4,000 fans and even a 1,500 fan packed house at a small club in DC. All were uniqque experiences. I for one am glad he's hot right now. I bought my NPGMC last april despite all the negative vibes that peeps were putting out. I spent $25 at Outback last week and got nothing for it but a full stomach. At least I have been offered things in the club that I have used (ordered N.E.W.S) and couldn't use (concert in Hawaii)...but I scored some (hopefully) nice floor seats for DC.

Enjoy the Ride. Stop being selfish and be glad. In 2 years time you'll still be a huge fan and a lot of the bandwagnoners will have moved on. You'll get to see him again with only 4,000 of your closest friends, and may be some new ones.

i haven't seen anybody complainin about the new bandwagoners yet...mostly it's been complaints about how much the "musicology" single sux and whatever else. the usual banter.

check out some of the posts on the NPGMC board...peeps are angry they only get side seats a full day before the general public even gets to get them. I'm sure the 200 people standing in line at Hecht's in Baltimore that didn't get a ticket wish they had such worries.
