Seriously, though, I think it was from the "Databank" recording sessions. The bit from "New Power Generation Pt. II" is supposed to be a sample from it. . [This message was edited Thu Mar 25 11:12:48 2004 by FunkMistress] The Normal Whores Club

Is that the Klingon language or something? Apparently, 'Oooby Doop Be Shoo Doo Loo Fly Me Doo Koo Shoo Ooh' was meant to be on the Maxi Single of 'New Power Generation' in 1990. I've just never heard anybody ever mention it here - and I'm surprised... Its got to be his most ridiculous song title EVER!

The title you mention is a remix of Oobey Doop (or an extension of it like The Lubricated Lady was an extension of Get Off). Both tracks was supposed to be on New Power Generation 12" according to the Turn It Up & Days Of Wild bibles. I've got Oobey Doop. At least, I think I do. Could be Oobey Doo Bee Shoo Doo Fly Me Koo Koo OOh Ooh Whatever Ever for all I know. But it's alright. I like the track. It's got Elisa Fiorillo singing lead. Dunno if the "remix" is circulating. I like that unreleased EP - My Tree, Positive Place, all that - I think it's great - Prince doing House 89/90 was pretty cool.

Me, too, Romance.
I've got this one: Prince: New Power Generation 12” (October 1990) Side A: New Power Generation Pt.1 and II (5:55) T.C.’s Rap (3:11) – rap written by T.C. Ellis Tony’s Iggnant Mix (4:13) - rap written by Tony Mosley Get Off (4:41) The Lubricated Lady (2:39) Side B: Loveleft, Loveright (5:00) Ooh Bee Shoo Bee Doo Koo Shoo Ooh (4:28) - co-lead vocal by Elisa Fiorillo My Tree (4:11) A Positive Place (2:13) - lead vocal by Robin Power Play (4:49) So I guess it's Ooh Bee Shoo Bee Doo Koo Shoo Ooh that I've got. Anyways, I love this maxi. Get Off/The Lubricated Lady and Loveleft, Loveright are very danceable. Play is a very nice track. Why, I even like My Tree and A Positive place even though it's got Robin Power rapping on it. Then Prince changed his mind and the maxi to this:
Prince: New Power Generation 12” (October 1990) Side A: New Power Generation Pt.1 (Funky Weapon Remix) (5:01) T.C.’s Rap (3:11) – rap written by T.C. Ellis Tony’s Iggnant Mix (4:18) - rap written by Tony Mosley, released as “Brother With A Purpose” Get Off (4:41) The Lubricated Lady (2:39) Side B : Loveleft, Loveright (5:00) U Want Me 2 What? (4:49) - previously titled “Play” Oobey Doop (4:28) - co-lead vocal by Elisa Fiorillo, previously titled Ooh Bee Shoo Bee Doo Koo Shoo Ooh Oobey Doop Be Shoo Doo Loo Fly Me Doo Koo Shoo Ooh - extended version of Oobey Doop New Power Generation Pt.II (2:57) And I don't have this one, but I take it from this list that I really do have Oobey Doop, just not Oobey Doop Be Shoo Doo Loo Fly Me Doo Koo Shoo Ooh. Which is why I don't know if it's a remix or an extension. Anyways, he removed My Tree and A positive place, otherwise it remained practically the same. Until he changed his mind again and removed Play and the Oobeys as well. [This message was edited Thu Mar 25 17:01:29 2004 by scififilmnerd] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!
