It's official, Rad is no longer in the band From her website radmusic.com:
We recently received a flood of emails asking why rad. was not part of the NPG at Prince's induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame. A number of circumstances prompted us to adjust our priorities and leave Prince and the NPG's Musicology tour before the US part of the tour would go into full swing. We wish the band and the crew a great tour and would highly recommend you go and see the show when it comes to your city! Many thanks to all the fans, new and old, for their concern and notes of support for rad. We are in the middle of recording the next rad. album and look forward to seeing you all soon! She just kept trying to drive a wedge between me and Rhonda. I tried to make it clear that it was all about RS, but Rad just wouldn't listen. All that tension began to affect the NPG, you understand.  It's just not easy being me.

I think Chance added a lot more to the band over Rad... in mass, if not in sex appeal!
There are only so many options as to why she could have left: She could have been let go by Prince for not being good enough or for not getting on with the other band members, or for doing something he didn't approve of. Prince could have decided he didn't really need 3 keyboard players and she was unluckily the one to go. My own feeling is that she wanted to go record her new album, Prince wanted her to focus on him and the tour, she opted for her own career instead. If they had a big falling out, you will be able to tell if they stop advertising her album on the NPGMC site... I think perhaps the NPG could do with a good female backing singer to harmonise with Prince - Rhonda's only got a small vocal range and is busy with that bass! | |

"I can't stand to fly/I'm not that naive..." Yeah ThreadBare, that's a good description of how things went down with Rhonda, Rad. and I. But it's okay, you don't have to keep me or my name confidential, and replace it with yours. Everyone knows about Rhonda and I, I'm fine with that, why would I hide such a fine woman!

It's one of the reasons I have stopped paying attention to who is who in his band. They either get let go so fast these days...or he changes the band, it's too hard to keep up. Took me forever to realize that the NPG had changed from it's original line up..and that it had several times. Or that Levi was gone...etc etc. Is Renato still with him and is he touring for Musicology?
