Omg that was totally not what i expected.... .....Today was the first time i have ever listned 2 "how come U dnt call me" I thought this song would be quite fast, fast guitars, hard drums, but it was 100% better, this song is soo beautiful. i cant believe how great this tune is.
i love it Keenmeister | |

How is this the 1st time u heard it? Did u have it and never got around 2 listening 2 it? I have 2 b honest, I don't really like that song. Is that bad? My favorite b sides are "She's Always In My Hair" and "Shockadelica". I could listen 2 those 4 hours...
But I am really glad u like HCUDCMA. Isn't it nice 2 hear new music!?!? "She made me glad to be a man"

i love it it's a great song Andykeen. You still have so much more to listen to and fall in love with. Go for it and don't stop until you have everything Prince ever released. Enjoy!

i love it I had a similar experience when I first read about this B-side in Steven Ivory's biography, my first introduction to the music of Prince, back in the days when rare vinyl was hard to get. Judging by the alliterative title, I somehow expected it to be a little funky workout in a similar vein to Irresistible Bitch because, come to think of it, 'How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore' lends itself quite easily to a fast lyric. But then that's what I thought in my ignorance back then. So, imagine my shock when the founder of Controversy magazine played it to me at my request and I heard it for the very first time. I was more than pleasantly surprised by just how much of a gem this song really is and to this day I cannot fathom why it never made the cut on the 1999 album . . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

This is a GREAT song. Lots of feeling and emotion. Alicia Keys could only try to recreate it. The fact that it's a B-side from the 1999 period shows P's diversity big time.
