Things I'd like to know about this album that I have wondered for years but never thought to ask:

1. that break in Pop Life - what is that exactly? I used to think it sounded like ice hockey when I was a kid, now I have no idea at all, is it a riot?

2. Tamborine - sounds like he's singing "trampoline" in the chorus. Is he really?

3. The Ladder - when the song started today in the car I could've sworn it was Jill Jones "Baby your're a trip" - must've been from the same time?

I like to imagine the end of 'Temptation' as a kind of cartoon strip...God with his big hand damning Prince for his sexual sins and lil' Prince on his knees with tears coming from his eyes crying, NOOOOO!!! like he does. If someone drew my image I think it would be kinda cute!

I guess you could say the intro's sound the same, but that is basically true of all the rhythm tracks of that era - it's all the LinnDrum sounds that make everything sound similar. However, the basic tracks of "Baby.." were recorded way before "The Ladder". "Baby..." was done in 1982 and "The Ladder" was tracked in 1984.
