Temptation

It's one of my favorite outtakes from the Purple Rain era. Prince performed a live version at the First Avenue "Purple Rain Preview" show in Minneapolis before the movie & album came out. There's also a rehearsal jam version floating around (not sure which one you picked up).

The chorus is great, and the piano figure really sticks in the mind. I wish Prince would've released this song on an album, or at least an official "B-side." It's better than half of the released songs!

That song is fantastic.

I like the rehearsal from First Avenue version better. It's much more raw, and you gotta love the "Wake Up Wendy!" part.
lol

There are the various live versions, and there is a version, where he has taken the First Avenue performance and worked on it in the studio - either way, it's brilliant nod

mad I have never even heard this song.

I remember when I was 13, reading all the reviews of the Purple Rain album, movie, shows etc, and all the journalists kept harping on about the brilliance of "songs like Electric Intercourse, G-Spot and Erotic City" and I'm like HELLO where am I supposed to hear these?? these songs are not on the album why is everyone talking about these songs instead of the ones that are? I was SOOOOO mad.

I absolutely LOVE Electric Intercourse. I used to have an unoffical blue 7" of it (with Possessed on the b-side) and now I have it on CD (although not superb quality) and I love it!!!!!

He put it aside when he recorded 'The Beautiful Ones'.

They are both killers, but The Beautiful Ones is much better placed on PR

This is an ultimate love song from that Purple Rain era. When I started collecting with chewymusic my girl enjoyed prince, but wasn't into the bootleg quality. She loved this song with average quality.

Plug into my socket baby!

Electric Intercourse is a great track but in fairness U would have 2 pick The Beautiful Ones over it. It should have been a B side though. nod
