A message to Terry Jackson & Will Doughty from Grand Cental... For those of you who have not the chance to read the story from th MPLS StarTribune paper/.com, I'll fill you in.
We all know Prince had a band when HE WAS 15, called Grand Central. The Startribune interviewed these two yahoos who were in that band with Prince. Check it out here: http://www.startribune.co...66180.html Here's my point to the two "never-were" nobodys. Prince got to were he is because of Prince's talent and writing. NOT because of you, like you would LIKE TO THINK. Nothing inferiates me more than people who try to think they are something they are not. Quotes from them: "We played a part somehow." - about helping to create the Minnapolis Sound. If you knew what PART you played in creating something, you'd know what the part WAS! "Honestly, yes. Why not? Because every time we hear him, we hear ourselves." ????? WHAT? WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO KID? you played IN A COVER BAND with the guy...GIVE IT UP! AND THIS IS THE BEST: Linda Anderson (another former member of the COVER BAND) said that her family still considers Prince to be like a brother, no matter the immense fame, sometimes suggestive lyrics and racy wardrobe. "You can never forget where you come from," she said This comment tells you how LOOOOONNNNGGG it's been since this tired old hag has HEARD PRINCE"S MUSIC!!!! YET SHE'S CONSIDERS PRINCE TO BE A BROTHER???!?!?!?!? It's people like this that drive me nuts. YOU MAY HAVE BEEN PART OF PRINCE'S LIFE GROWING UP, BUT YOU ARE STILL OWED NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING!!!!! Prince has got because Prince is Prince. Not beacause he jammed with a couple of idiots in north MPLS. Get over it, and get your OWN life. for some reason you're readin into what they said waaaaay too hard. you're misinterpreting mere reminiscences and testimonials for arrogance and/or the 'little richard' mentality ("prince is me!"), which isn't goin on in that article. i gotta bad feelin that i'ma have to tell a lot of folks to cool the hell out while this whole prince-in-the-newspapers-and-press episode is goin on.  | |
